Humanoid Feasibility Study & Pilot Plan

Should your plant run a humanoid robot pilot?

For which task, what would it require, and what must the pilot prove before you invest further? An independent go / no-go / not-yet decision in three weeks.

Book a 30-minute fit call See what you get

  • 3 weeks after complete inputs
  • Fixed fee from US$8,000
  • Vendor-independent: no referral fees
  • Remote by default: US & Canada

Who it's for

Plant managers, operations directors and manufacturing engineering leads at midsized North American manufacturers, especially auto-component and metal-forming plants with roughly 250–1,500 employees.

  • You have at least one repetitive handling task running across two or more shifts.
  • Leadership is curious about humanoids, or a vendor has already approached you.
  • You want an independent view before committing pilot budget.
  • You're open to hearing that an AMR, cobot, fixed automation or a process change is the better answer, or that the right answer is "not yet".

What you get (one facility)

  1. Task screen

Up to 5 candidate tasks, each scored for humanoid vs. AMR/AGV, cobot, fixed automation and process redesign.

  2. Deep assessment

One priority task: workflow, takt fit, payload, reach, environment, exceptions, safety and integration constraints.

  3. Platform comparison

Current humanoid options compared on availability, commercial model and published evidence, plus a vendor RFI question pack.

  4. Business case

A preliminary business case with explicit assumptions and sensitivity analysis, in an Excel workbook you keep.

  5. Requirements

Operational, integration (WMS/MES/IT-OT) and workforce requirements, including roles, training needs and change impacts.

  6. Pilot specification

KPIs (cycle time, interventions per shift, uptime, accuracy, safety events), responsibilities, stage gates and exit criteria.

  7. Working sessions

Two tailored management/engineering working sessions, plus an executive recommendation.

What this study is not

This is a decision and planning study. It is research-, data- and interview-based. The items on the right are separately scoped, usually with the robot vendor or integrator.

  • Production commissioning
  • Validated robot performance testing
  • Formal safety certification or risk-assessment sign-off
  • Operator qualification
  • Robot control-policy training

Performance figures in the study are either vendor-published or assumptions that the pilot must prove.

How it works

  1. Week 0

    Fit call & scope

A 30-minute fit call, then a fixed-fee statement of work and an input checklist. Expect about 6–8 hours of your team's time in total.

  2. Week 1

    Inputs & screen

Interviews, task videos, layout, cycle and labour data review. Working session 1: the task screen.

  3. Week 2

    Deep assessment

Priority-task analysis, platform comparison, business case and requirements.

  4. Week 3

    Recommendation

Working session 2: go / no-go / not-yet recommendation and pilot specification. Final deliverables handed over.

The three-week clock starts once inputs are complete. Remote by default; an on-site option (observation only) is available in Tier 2.

Pricing

Founding Core

US$8,000

The full Core study, open to the first three clients booked by 31 January 2027.

Standard Core

US$9,500

The full Core study as described above.

Tier 2: Study + Site Validation & Vendor RFI

US$16,500

1–2 days on site (observation only), up to 3 deep-dives, and an RFI run with 3–5 vendors.

  • Terms: 50% at booking, 50% on delivery. Pay in full at booking and receive a third working session at no charge.
  • Acceptance: written acceptance criteria. If a deliverable falls short, it is revised at no cost.
